Who we are

This site is operated by Clean Tide Seaweed Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales, company number 17387976, registered office 82A James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.

The short version

We do not set cookies. We do not use advertising trackers. We do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not sell or share your data. The only personal data we hold is what you send us yourself, by email.

Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It is privacy-first by design: it sets no cookies, does not use browser fingerprinting, and does not track visitors across sites or over time.

Cloudflare processes on our behalf, and records:

• the page visited, and the referring page, if any
• approximate country, derived from your IP address
• browser and operating system type, and device type
• page load performance timings

Your IP address is used transiently to derive the country and is not stored by this analytics service. Because the data is aggregated and does not identify you, no consent banner is required. Cloudflare's own documentation describes the service in full.

Legal basis: our legitimate interests in understanding how the site is used so we can improve it. Because the data is not personally identifying, this is a minimal intrusion on your privacy.

If you email us

Our contact links open your own email client. There is no form on this site, and we collect nothing unless you choose to write to us. If you do, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you put in the message. Our email is hosted by Microsoft as part of Microsoft 365.

We use that information only to reply to you and to carry on the conversation you started. We do not add you to a mailing list.

Legal basis: our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, and where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

How long we keep it:

• Enquiries that do not lead anywhere: 24 months from your last message.
• Correspondence connected to a contract or working relationship: six years after that relationship ends. Six years is the time limit for bringing a contract claim under the Limitation Act 1980, and matches HMRC's record-keeping requirement.

If you would like your correspondence deleted sooner than that, just ask.

Fonts

The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests them, Google receives your IP address as part of that request. We do not use Google Analytics or any Google advertising service.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Netlify, which processes standard server request data such as IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy
• have inaccurate data corrected
• have your data erased
• restrict or object to how we use it
• ask us to transfer it to another provider

To exercise any of these, email hello@cleantideseaweed.com. There is no charge, and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Changes

If we change how we handle data, for example by adding a contact form or a newsletter, we will update this notice and change the date at the top.
